Looking into the great chamber of the lizardmen caves dominated by a round mud hut, the party saw the lizardmen mostly prepared for a fight, weapons at the ready. They were unprepared for the spell Eiric sent arching over the top of the hut. The red ember flashed out fiery death, and near a dozen lizardmen were instantly killed. Magic missiles from Brie, and crossbow bolts from the rest of the party dropped the lizardman in the impressive headdress, but only injured the one standing with the human forged sword.
It, and those lizardmen lucky enough to have been just at the far end of the cave broke and ran. The party chased them to a cave half full of water. The waves showed the water disturbed, but the lizardmen were gone. However more than half a dozen large crocs sat hissing at the waters edge. Backing out of the chamber, the party backtracked the way they came, looking for loot, or other lizardmen. The found no more lizardmen, and very little loot until reaching the shamans cave. A footlocker with a sack of coins, 2 potions, and an oilskin wraped elven sword.
Collecting their loot, they headed back north toward the chamber with the giant cobra statue, and explored the short hall just before it. The pillared hall blocked off by a rubble filled hallway stopped their progress in that direction. Just beyond the hooded cobra they found 2 more doors.
The first opened to a web filled classroom. Spying a big black spider, they launched missiles, killing it before it could respond. The didn't see the 2 other spiders that dropped down and dismembered the dwarf Malm who'd opened the door. (a pair of natural 20s!). They didn't survive another turn.
The next door opened into a room with a massive old bed and a large stone ouroboros on the south wall. A-A-Ron found the eye was a button... All but Karl left the room, and he used his 10' pole to poke it. The pole and 2 of his crossbow bolts turned into snakes! His dwarven constitution saved him from death by poison, but the large one wrapped around him. Orpheus rushed in grabbing one of the smaller snakes, and bashing it against the wall. Lex followed his example. Orpheus then grabbed the big one and tried the same thing, but it was firmly attacked to Karl so they both slammed into the wall. It was enough to kill the snake, though Karl looked a little worse for wear from the encounter.
Packing up, the party returned to the Korners and talked with Trustee Sniv, hiring him and his kobolds to excavate the collapsed hall for a 50/50 split on anything found beyond it. They then headed back to town.
Karl partied hard, ending up in bed with Fabio! (someone way out of his league, per the carousing chart result)
Eiric and Brie began work on researching Summon Swarm of Corgis.
Orpheus spent time with the orphans.
A-A-Ron went off, and showed back up with a black eye and a grin on his face.
Lex spent his time partying with Karl, and working out.
