One of the Reaper Challenge League challenges for this month was "one eyed one horned flying purple people eater" with the caveat that to meet the challenge for this category is that you only needed to hit one of the parts of the challenge... but what's the fun of that?

Of course I don't have a mini in my collection that fulflls all the requirements, so I went digging. I do have a large cyclops, but didn't feel like painting a giant. So I kept digging and came across my bag of early Bones Kickstarter demons, and the ape demon felt perfect. Well, aside from the 2 eyes and no horn.

I can fix that. I just cut off his face, and grabbed the greenstuff. The hardest part was the teeth. I wasn't originally going for big flat mollar type teeth, but I liked how it turned it.

Once the greenstuff had cured, it was time to paint. I primed/base coated with Kraken Ink (purple liner) and the eye with linen white.

I then used a mix of Kraken Ink, Clear Purple, Ruddy Flesh, Dragon Red, and Aged Bone to do the rest of the mini. The final step, aside from basing, was to apply a gloss varnish on the eye and the tongue.

Not sure when I'll get to the base, so here's the finished but the base pic.

I am excessively pleased with how well he turned out. At some point I'd love to put him next to the real thing and see how they compare side to side.

That moment when you're painting and realize you forgot to give one boot the cuff you gave the other one, and also forgot to attach the strap across Kornovik's chest to anything...

And while I was at it, I have the saddle a little more detail.

Back before all the craziness, and before I dropped out of the Curse of Strahd game to focus on studying for the CPA exam, a new player joined the group, and she was running a half orc paladin. That's not really something I've got a lot of in my collection, and cause I like it when all my fellow PCs have good minis to represent their characters, I got to work converting one.

I started with Reaper's Erick, Paladin Initiate.

Then I got a cutting... I carefully removed the head and sword, but didn't take a picture of that. Then, digging through my bits box, settled on a head and hammer to match what she said her half orc looked like

Then with some paint...

At this point I still need to give him a base. Sadly I was wrapping this up as everything shut down for the corona virus... so I haven't had a chance to drop it off.

Finishing up some details, including the bit, bow (from the Reaper Bones 3 weapon sprue) & quiver (from the Frostgrave barbarian kit), skull (from the Frostgrave Wizard's kit).

I also gave Kornovik a vest, cause there was just too much bare chest going on.

Finally I added sand from Hawaii.

Okay, for real, painting next.

Pants!

Looking carefully, and over a day or two, I realized that the orc legs that came with the beast were just... too short. So I was gonna need to make them longer, which means raising Kornovik up some.

That also meant that the saddle was far too short too, so that needed bulking up.

I decided not to do anything fancy with the pants. As much as I'd have loved to do something like the woven leather of the pants Kevin Sorbo wore as hercules, I just wasn't gonna try something that intricate. Maybe next time.

And because I can't leave well enough alone, or do just what I'd planned on working on, I also added the reigns, the stirrup straps, wrapped over the split bracer where I'd done the hand swap to cover the obvious gap.
