After a few days of rest, the party returned to the dungeon giving the black bear drinking at the pond a wide berth. Once in the dungeon, they decided to fill in a little of the map, rechecking a few of the rooms they'd visited on their first expedition, from the torched room to the feast hall to the abandoned kitchen. Then back down to the chamber with the booming "Fools! Flee before your bones rest here evermore!" voice. The portcullis was ignored, and they decided to head back down the well to investigate the voices and light they'd noticed before.
Securing the rope, they slid down one by one. As before the light and voices came softly down the hall. They went toward the light, and found a room full of... degenerate humans who smiled at them with pointed teeth. The party looked at the 2:1 odds, and decided to talk to them. They weren't very talkative in return, but when asked about treasure they pointed toward a door across the room, and their friendly smiles grew. Taking this as a good sign, they sidled around the edge of the room, and went to the door. The weird humans nodded and smiled more, so the party opened the door.
The smaller chamber beyond the door was piled with rugs, tapestries, and other assorted fabrics. Amid the piles was another degenerate man, this one dressed in actual armor, cradling a jug. Upon seeing the party, he set the jug aside, stood and drew his sword. Behind the party, they could hear the rest of the degenerate humans moving closer. They all rushed into the room, and slammed the door shut. Tink and Wilhelm held the door, while Lex and Shelly flanked the armor clad man. The door slammed, and the man swung. Amazingly, Tink and Wilhelm managed to hold the door, while the man way hacked down, though it wasn't a speedy process. The constant slamming of the others against the door was an ongoing distraction.
With the leader taken down, but no way out of the chamber, the party decided to allow a couple of the humans into the room at a time. It worked, though with each that came into the chamber the party suffered more and more injury. Eventually they ran out of degenerates... so they took a few to bind their wounds and enjoy a little of the leaders brew. Searching the chamber they discovered a large jack-in-the-box. With some trepidation, they turned the crank. Thankfully nothing evil popped out, and the box was full of treasure, which they pocketed.
Emerging from the chamber they looked around, and decided to explore one of the open halls. Heading off, the hall shifted direction after a bit, and curved again off in the distance. Keeping on, they heard a click below them, and a sharpened spear shot down from above, skewering Lex clean through. Deciding that was enough, they stripped Lex's body of anything useful, and scurried back to the well, and out of the dungeon.
