New Monster: Poison Waste Drakes

Beyond the mountains that contain the Doom-Gate, the plains and forests were long considered uninhabitable, awash with poison and radiation, but life, as it so often does, finds a way. The wyrms, dragons, wyverns, and other beasts that appeared with the opening of the Doom-Gate made their lairs in these poison wastes, though their offspring were changed, warped by the energies of the Poison Wastes into new forms adapted to this world.

The drakes of the Poison Wastes are the offspring of those early wyrms and are deadly to those wandering the wastes. They will often hide in wait, emerge to blast their prey with their sand blast attack, and then flee if their victim is still standing, only to follow and track them to eat them once the radiation has killed them.

Poison Waste drakes are vicious ambush predators. With their natural camouflage and burrowing ability they are able to surprise their prey on a 1-4. Their initial attack is almost always their sand blast, which the smaller ones (1-4HD) can do once a day, and the larger ones (5-6HD) can do twice a day. This blast sprays out in a cone for 5' for every HD of the drake. Anyone in the cone must make a Save vs. Dragon's Breath to take half damage.

Victims of the sand blast must make  a save vs Poison or suffer 1 Con damage per day. At the start of every subsequent day the PC may make another save. One successful save ends the ongoing damage. Thereafter the lost Con will return at a rate of 1 point per week with a successful save vs poison. Failure means that any remaining lost Con is permanent.
