While the party recovers from Mummy Rot, A-A-Ron, using his underworld connections, hears about a magic sword in town, and attempts to steal it. He fails, and returns to the party bruised and unwilling to discuss what happened.
Darryl, aside from tending to the ill party members acquires a section of map to a tomb in the dungeon where magical weapons are rumored to be buried with their owners.
After a week of rest, the party returns to the dungeon, and goes straight to Korners, and run into more Heartless. Lomax, Noxic, and Volstagg all flee, while the party kills and turns the undead. Rather than stand around or go looking for the hirelings, the party presses on. Next they encounter a dozen skeletons, which are easily dispatched, and then another group of Heartless. Brie and Darryl both run, leaving the party to tackle the monsters without divine help.
Now feeling short handed, the party decides to do a full sweep of Kobold Korners, including the old Wizard’s School, where they find a whole bunch of kobolds hiding out. Apparently the various undead haven’t found the school yet… They give the kobolds some provisions, and press on. With the school “safe” they move back to the main section of the Korners, then down the main stairs to the Hobgoblin Redoubt.
A trio of carrion crawlers tries to make the party lunch, but they’re quickly killed. Deciding they’re too short handed to press on further, they head back to the Korners, and run into a scouting party of Kobolds, who want them to go see Sniv. They lead the party through the Contested Corridors and up into the old bandit caves.
Sniv, who has Brie and Darryl with him, tells them that things in Stonehell are getting too dangerous. The undead aren’t interested in having them around, and keep attacking them on sight. He’s thinking of taking his clan and moving on to a safer location. Eiric says they’re trying to deal with the threat, and not to just run off. Sniv is skeptical, but decides to give them a chance to clean things up.
